Timp targets the same studios we do — Pilates, personal training, yoga — mostly in Spain, Italy and Latin America. The feature sets are comparable. The prices aren't. And since Playtomic acquired Timp in 2025, the question of where it's headed is worth asking. Playtomic is a well-funded marketplace with its sights set on dominating the Spanish sports market. We've seen that playbook before: a platform moves in, acquires the tools studios depend on, and gradually inserts itself into the relationship between a studio and its clients.
No sales call required to try Bobclass. We don't have a sales team. Download the app and start — if it's not right for you, you've lost nothing. That said, if you'd like to talk through whether it's a good fit, Rob the founder is happy to have a chat. He speaks English, Dutch, German and Spanish.

Timp has no free plan. They do offer a trial on occasion — but it's not easy to find, and it's limited enough that you can't even import your existing clients to test with. A trial that doesn't let you work with your own data tells you very little about whether the tool fits your studio. Bobclass has a free plan that is fully functional, with no time limit and no credit card required. The only limit is the number of bookings per month.
Timp's Starter plan is €50/month excluding VAT. That's their entry point — one professional, basic features. Bobclass Pro is €19.99/month including VAT: up to 200 bookings/month, all features, no sales call required. In Spain, where VAT runs at 21%, that Timp Starter becomes roughly €60.50 once you add it up. Bobclass Pro stays at €19.99.
At the mid tier, Bobclass Studio is €34.99/month including VAT. Timp Basic — the plan that adds client communication, waitlists and multi-professional support — is €85/month excluding VAT. For most studios, the real cost works out at roughly three times more than Bobclass once VAT is included.
Timp's pricing page also carries a note: "El precio puede variar en el caso de contratar módulos extra" — the price may vary if you contract extra modules. Many features that are included in Bobclass at the base price cost extra on Timp. The headline price isn't always what you end up paying.
And in April 2026, Timp raised prices by 28–44% depending on the plan. The increase was communicated on 20 December — the eve of the Christmas holiday period — in a message that led with other news before mentioning that prices would be "adjusted accordingly." One studio owner on Capterra described it as "misleading and false communication" and a "totally disproportionate and unjustifiable adjustment." The previous base price was €30/month — confirmed by Timp's own response to the review.
Bobclass has completely redesigned the software and shipped a significant amount of new functionality — without raising prices.
Timp's Starter plan is listed as €50/month. What the headline price doesn't make obvious: you pay 6 months upfront before you've run a single class on the platform. That's €300 excluding VAT — committed before you know whether the workflow fits, whether your clients take to the booking experience, or whether support is there when you need it. Six months of Timp Starter (excluding VAT) costs more than a full year of Bobclass Studio (including VAT).
Higher Timp plans (Basic, Pro, Premium) require a 3-month setup period before the software is fully live for your studio. That's three months of paying while you're still setting up.
Bobclass has no setup period, no minimum commitment, and no upfront payment. Download the app, import your clients, publish your schedule. The free plan is there precisely so you can find out whether it fits before you commit to anything.
One Capterra reviewer used the word cautivos — captive. They knew the product wasn't right for them, knew the pricing was unreasonable, but felt they couldn't leave because switching would take too much time and effort. That's the endpoint of high lock-in software: customers who stay not because they're happy, but because leaving is too disruptive.
In 2025, Playtomic acquired Timp. Playtomic is one of the dominant sports platforms in Spain — primarily padel and tennis courts — and a marketplace at its core. Their business model is built on connecting players with venues, taking a cut on each booking made through their platform.
We've seen this pattern before. Eversports started as studio software. Then came the discovery marketplace. Then commission on bookings made through the platform. The structural problem is always the same: a marketplace earns whether your client books with you or with the studio around the corner. It is structurally incapable of being loyal to any individual studio, because its revenue doesn't depend on which one they choose.
We don't know exactly where Timp is headed under Playtomic's ownership. But it's a legitimate question to ask when choosing software your studio will depend on. Who benefits if your clients are visible on a wider platform? Who benefits when their behaviour data shows they're shopping around?
Bobclass is owned by Court Four Ltd — a small team in Bath, UK. No investors, no marketplace, no plans to insert ourselves between you and your clients. Your clients book with you. We have no financial interest in it being any other way.
Both Bobclass and Timp have native apps. But there's a meaningful difference in what the studio owner's experience looks like on a phone.
Timp's native mobile app is Express — designed to cover a subset of what the web dashboard does. For studio owners, that means anything Express doesn't include requires getting to a browser. For team members and instructors, restricted access through Express is appropriate and works well — that part of the comparison is level.
Bobclass is the full studio management experience on iOS, macOS and Android. Every feature available on a computer is available on your phone. Check who's booked, reschedule a class and message all affected clients via WhatsApp, manage the waitlist, mark attendance — all of it, from your phone, between sessions. For studio owners who also teach, the ability to run the whole operation from a phone isn't a convenience. It's how they actually work.
On iPad or an Android tablet, the experience is particularly good — a full-size interface that travels with you, whether that's between rooms in the studio or running a class outdoors in the park.
Multiple Timp reviews on Capterra and Trustpilot describe the same experience: a chatbot as first contact, a slow chat response when a human eventually arrives, and no phone number available. One reviewer noted that when they raised a complaint about the price increase, support "had the impertinence to argue back and justify themselves" rather than listen.
Bobclass support is fast, human, and consistently called out in our App Store reviews (4.7 stars, 356 ratings) as a reason people stay. You're always talking to a real person. On the Unlimited plan, you get a direct WhatsApp line — available every day, 8AM–8PM CET, typically responding within minutes. No bots, no ticket queues, no canned answers.
Support matters most when something goes wrong mid-class: a client can't book, a payment isn't showing, you need to bulk-reschedule because your instructor called in sick. That's not a moment for a chatbot.
We'd rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one. Timp is likely a better fit if:
Bobclass is available in Spanish and Italian, so language isn't a blocker. But we'll be honest: if local compliance infrastructure is your primary concern, Timp has more of it. For everything else — price, flexibility, mobile experience, support, and not being owned by a marketplace — we're confident Bobclass is the better choice.
We offer you the Studio plan free for the full remainder of your contract. Set up your schedule, import your clients, and run your studio on it properly before you pay a thing. Email support@bobclass.com to arrange it.

Yes, significantly — and at every tier. Here's the direct comparison. Timp prices are excluding VAT; Bobclass prices include VAT:
| Tier | Timp — excl. VAT | Bobclass — incl. VAT |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Starter — €50/month | Pro — €19.99/month |
| Mid | Basic — €85/month | Studio — €34.99/month |
| Upper | Pro — €130/month | Unlimited — €49.99/month |
| Top | Premium — €170/month | Unlimited — €49.99/month |
In Spain, VAT is 21%. Add that to Timp's prices and the gap widens further. Bobclass Studio at €34.99/month (incl. VAT) compares to Timp Basic at €102.85/month once Spanish VAT is included.
Playtomic is one of Spain's largest sports venue platforms — primarily padel courts and tennis clubs — and a marketplace at its core. They acquired Timp in 2025. A marketplace company earns by connecting clients with venues, taking a cut wherever possible. When a marketplace buys studio software, the long-term direction tends to involve inserting the platform between studios and their clients.

Bobclass. Pilates studios run three distinct session types: private one-on-one sessions, duets (two clients sharing a session), and group classes. Bobclass handles all three in one schedule. The duet format works particularly well — a second spot opens automatically once the first client confirms, so a second client can self-book without any manual coordination from you.
